Dear BRH Collaborators
Ladies and Gentlemen, Members of the Spoken, Written, Television and Online Press,
It is with infinite joy and enthusiasm that on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti, I find myself in this beautiful city of Christophienne, in order to take an active part in the Forum of Rural Women , resulting from a collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Bank of the Republic of Haiti and the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training, associated with other national and international bodies.
Suffer that first, I congratulate all those who contributed to the realization of this event. This approach, the main goal of which is the integration of all into global value chains, is commendable and the priority given today to women is all the more important as the world is engaged in an era of upheavals whose effects are felt in all spheres of human activity.
The stakes are multiple and the future of peoples depends on it. Values such as democracy, the affirmation of human rights and social justice are the foundations for the evolution and progress of communities. Economic restructuring is therefore necessary because it tends to reduce social disparities.
Like other nations, Haiti is changing. The evolution of the situation of women is closely linked to it. More than ever, our Haitian women want and must participate more actively in the decisions and orientations that shape the future of this nation.
If women had the right to the same opportunities as men, they would achieve wonders. When their rights are violated, we deprive their children, and society as a whole, of a better future. Despite their marginalization, women, and a fortiori, rural women, are creators and key players in all sectors. They are found in the formal and informal sectors of business, in the management of public affairs, in religious activities and so on.
